Genshin’s way to story ending thread.

So, a disclaimer to start. I am in no way an expert in most of the idea, philosophy, or believe that is written within this thread. All of this was cited from many kinds of information bits which I compile along with my comprehension of the story. +

Those information will be attached by the end of this thread. Do remember that this is a fan theory and considering the lack of deep understanding of the topics, I might be wrong. And obviously this thread will contain a lot of assumptions and spoilers. +

This will be a long thread, bear with me.

I think it is pretty obvious that the story within Genshin is inspired/revolved around Gnosticism, which is a philosophical and religious movement whose teaching is focused on reaching enlightenment (Gnosis). It is no coincidence that we have Gnostic Chorus and Gnostic Hymn.

But there’s more, I will first explain this concept.

In Gnosticism, it is believed that ‘the One’ or ‘the Absolute’ (and many other names), or Monad, is the God. From Him, born Aeons which are metaphysical beings, akin to abstract but perceptible things, +

also called the emanation of Monad. It must be noted here that they are not God, since Monad is the Absolute God. The purpose of this Aeons is to ‘elevate them into thoughts’, or an enlightenment (Gnosis), to be exact. Both Monad and Aeons live in Plerome, the region of light, +

which come to existence solely because of his powers. One of the Aeons, named Sophia, in pursuit of enlightenment, made a Gnostic being, or enlightened being called Demiurge, without the assistance from other Aeons. This being came to life, but realizing that Sophia shouldn’t +

have done this, she’s ashamed so she hid it and decided to confine Demiurge within clouds and she made a throne for Demiurge inside it.

Demiurge, had never seen other gods or beings, or even the world, assume himself as the absolute god, he then decided to create a world, +

believing that its denizens will worship him. But Demiurge subconsciously made this world similar to Pleroma, making its denizens seeking enlightenment (Gnosis) instead of worshiping him. Realizing this, Demiurge became angry and decided to make 6 aeons, or in his case, called +

Archons, to prevent humans from reaching enlightenment.

Saddened by the fate of these people, Monad sent 2 Aeons in hope so the world could reach Gnosis.

Now, to relate to this philosophy;
1. Monad and Sophia (and other Aeons) is not any character told yet in the story, if they’re going to come into existence, I assume it will be around the end of Genshin Impact’s story.
2. The world similar to Pleroma made by Demiurge is Teyvat.

3. Demiurge is Asmoday ‘Sustainer of the Heavenly Principle’. A false god in which the ‘heavenly principle’ was to make themself the god of the world.
4. The Archons as we know them are not beings who have reached enlightenment and Celestia, +

but instead the beings which prevents us from reaching it.
5. 2 Aeons sent by Monad are the travelers, but instead they were defeated in a fight and lost their power and forgot their purpose instead.

In point 4, how? I assume it is by making us believe that one vision is needed to reach Gnosis. The purpose of the Traveler in Teyvat is to find their sibling and master all seven elements. We could see from the start of the game that travelers' clothes glow white, instead of +

any color of elements existing in Teyvat. It is because at this point the Travelers are enlightened already, since they ARE Aeons. This could mean that this power obtained by combining all of the elements (In color theory, white is technically not a color. The absence of all +

hues in the light spectrum makes black and the presence of all hues in the light spectrum make white), OR there is an 8th element that we don’t know about that might only be obtained after the traveler is blessed by all seven elements.

Point 5, why Lumine ask Asmoday ‘Who’re you?’ when meeting her? This might be because Monad knew the existence of Teyvat but not Demiurge. This will explain why Travelers are Aeons yet still defeated by Asmoday because it’s an existence they don’t expect. But I’m not really sure.

Now, coming back to Archons in Gnosticism. There are only 6 Archons, but there are 7 archons, 7 regions and 7 elements in Teyvat. I have 2 theories for how this will end.

1. The reason Tsaritsa is looking for Gnosis is to find whose Gnosis is odd, assuming all gnosis +

will take the form of chess pieces. It can be assumed in this theory that the Demiurge of this story is disguised as one of the Archons and I believe the Archons know about this and what’s going on in Teyvat after the Cataclysm. That might be the reason why Barbatos and +

Tsaritsa had beef which each other, they have the same purpose (to bring down the Celestia, there’s some quotes of him not liking the Celestia) but they resort in different method, with Tsaritsa choosing the more forceful one. Zhongli also realized the truth and decided to end +

his contract with Celestia which said to reign over Liyue. BUT, MHY have the freedom to be inspired by something and use them to their interest so we couldn’t rule out the possibility that they wanted to actually have 7 archons instead of 6 archons.

An intermezzo.

I believe that Zhongli is not as ‘nice’ as we thought. He’s apathetic and doesn’t seem to have problems with anything but the things bound by contracts. Making him an archon that doesn't see any problem with humans not reaching Gnosis. But this is before he +

realized that humans are able to reach Gnosis (him leaving Liyue in the hands of the Qixing (humans) is his statement that he is now an actual Aeon which believe in pursuit of enlightenment instead of worshipping god) which will contradict his contract with Asmoday. +

That’s why he only let his gnosis go after 500 years.

2. If you haven’t realized, we have two 5-stars items in the quest tab inventory that have no purpose whatsoever. Both of them obtained after each finished archon quests and Tsatritsa obtained each of their gnosis. +
