Alright! Will be live-tweeting this album drop on this thread - don’t expect to have many *new* insights on the first 20 songs unless something drastically changes...but I’m sure the vault will be really instructive
#FearlessTaylorsVersion
here we gooooooooo

God, I love Fearless so much - it is #9 in my official Taylor rankings
God, she sounds so good on Fearless - it’s a little less unabashedly giddy than the original, but I love it #FearlessTaylorsVersion

Alright - Fifteen might be the one I’m most curious about, let’s see #FearlessTaylorsVersion

Man, oh man, Fifteen - it’s a little more...earthly? A little wearier, a little wiser. Almost exactly the same but the subtlest of differences in some of the inflections
Dancing ‘round your *roooooooom* when the night ends #FearlessTaylorsVersion

The way she says certain words differently conveys so much - regret, wisdom, wistfulness...man
Not much to say about Love Story since we’ve heard it already, but...yeaaaah this rules
Those drums on the intro of Hey Stephen! Like a jolt of caffeine #FearlessTaylorsVersion

The percussion on Hey Stephen is a lot more forward than on the original
Also the laugh is >>>>>>>
Oh I am so excited to hear White Horse #FearlessTaylorsVersion

The way the drums come in on that first chorus of White Horse, fantastic #FearlessTaylorsVersion

This song REALLY benefits from Taylor’s improved vocal
White Horse is a top-three Track 5, that’s my hill
Might be my favorite of the re-recorded versions so far
Oh YES YBWM #FearlessTaylorsVersion

You Belong With Me: still fun as hell #FearlessTaylorsVersion

The harmonies on that second verse are more apparent, too, and I love it
Okay the twang sounds a little more forced on You Belong With Me lol
Breathe - so good to have Colbie Caillat back #FearlessTaylorsVersion

Breathe is probably the most similar to the original out of all of them so far
Oh those harmonies at the end on the “I’m sorry” parts are different

Even Tell Me Why freaking rules, man - the way she goes on “*heeeeere’s* to you” is A+++
You’re Not Sorry is another one that sounds so good with the fuller vocal
You’re Not Sorry is making me excited for debut (Taylor’s version)
The Way I Loved You is also even more wistful than the original, if that was even possible
The distance has made this one mean something different #FearlessTaylorsVersion
The distance has made this one mean something different #FearlessTaylorsVersion

God, to be in a crowded bar yelling “BUT I MISS SCREAMING AND FIGHTING AND KISSING IN THE RAIN IT’S 2 AM AND I’M CURSING YOUR NAME”
Oh, Forever and Always, let’s get it
A little less anger and/or metaphorical eye-rolling in this one, but the high notes in the chorus sound incredible
Oh noooooo The Best Day
This is definitely sadder than the original...hope Andrea’s okay, man #FearlessTaylorsVersion

Love that elevated percussion between the first chorus and second verse on The Best Day
You can sense how proud she is when she sings that “inside and out, he’s better than I am” line about Austin
That “I know you were on my side, even when I was wrong” is heavier, too. Man.
Alright, let’s see if Change makes a little bit more sense this time lol
Okay, it sounds a lot better - still the most random song on the album lol but it’ll do
Oh those harmonies in verse 2 are tiiiight
Alright, do you guys know how much I love Jump Then Fall? Because I freaking love Jump Then Fall

The inflections on the chorus!

Say that you *wanna* be with me too - that word is sung differently and it is special
Untouchable - the only cover to ever make a Taylor Swift studio album
This is very similar to the original, though the drums are a bit more elevated. Has anyone heard from Luna Halo lately?
The oh-ohs in this song are so much more confident lol
Ooooh Forever and Always (Piano Version) (Taylor’s version) lol
TWO parentheticals!
Oh this sounds GREAT - this is where her vocal stands out the most
Was that violin always there? It sounds amazing
F&A Piano Version is a BIG winner as a rerecorded song
Oh, the first line of Come In With the Rain sounds really good
The lower register is so much fuller and the higher register and head voice are so much less strained across the board
Come In With the Rain VIOLIN >>>
Alright, Superstar, I have a special place in my heart for this song
The harmonies on the chorus of Superstar stay winning
Superstar would have fit in really nicely on the soundtrack of that Adam Levine-Keira Knightley movie lol
Pretty similar but the harmonies are highlighted a bit more. Subtle changes, but if it ain’t broke
Oooh the new vocal is really fun on The Other Side of the Door
I keep going back *oooover* things we both said...love this vocal
On that bridge - the approach to “I’LL scream out the window” is a lot different and really interesting
TDAF - I am so ready for this one
Oh YES that new deeper vocal on the verses is great
BUT CAN YOU FEEL THIS MAGIC IN THE AIR? IT MUST HAVE BEEN THE WAY YOU KISSED ME
I am ALL the way in on this song
I am ALL the way in on this song
The chorus absolutely SOARS on this version, even more than on the original. TDAF rules.
Today Was A Fairtytale is wonderful, man
