today’s random thought: who wrote the original goldilocks and was their intention to highlight white supremacy, colonialism and gentrification or were they honestly just vibing and made a story about some bears and an annoying little girl

Okay so originally the story apparently was published anonymously soooo idk i feel like they weren’t JUST vibing

okay tl dr: white guy, names robert southey, he spent a portion of his life rebelling, wrote about social justice sometimes, got kicked out of & also quit some schools bc he hated the system. turns out he also was an orientalist tho (BIG yikes.. ) also later becomes conservative

so basically yes: goldilocks and the three bears was probably hinting to all that but also robert southey isn't exactly someone everyone should sit and praise and be like omg king or whatever. the end.
