Wanna know who told me I could be a physician? It wasn’t another physician. It was a rheum research study coordinator who hired me at 17. Tonight I called to tell her I am graduating.

An NP delivered me. I have only ever seen 2 physicians in my life.
My point is that ESPECIALLY for those of us without physicians in our family, it is often nurses, research coordinators, APP’s, PT/OT etc who tell us we can go to med school or even help us on path to get there.

It is rarely physicians, at least in my experience.
I aspire to be half of the healthcare workers these mentors have been to me.

Here mentor is hugging me on my wedding day. She was my pipeline.
