anyways— some ppl have also been talking about xinyan being blasian, and here’s my opinions on that.

no, but ok, but still no.

yes it is a much better idea than her, being fully black. but then again it really erases the dark skinned asian representation
wbk that people claiming her as black do so because of her skin tone. then isn’t it the same for the “blasian” thing?

“she’s black, but her name is chinese, oh blasian!”

calling her blasian is pretty much the same, because the reason is still her skin tone
yes there is no confirmation of her being chinese. but there IS confirmation that liyue and the people are based of china.

as xinyan is a part of liyue, she should be fully chinese
keep in mind that genshin’s timeline is hundreds of years ago.. where ppl still wear their traditional clothings daily.

back then, mixed couples were almost nowhere to be found.
i don’t want to sound racist, but it is how it is. chinese used to be so discriminative against people outside of china. the idea of xinyan being blasian just doesn’t make much sense as almost noone would approve of mixed marriage back then. even to this day, it’s still like that
for now, the identity of her race is still indeed not fully confirmed. but as she is a part of liyue, it’s respectful to the chinese community to let her be a part of them, a part of us.
it’s up to you to interpret her as what you want. but i stand by my beliefs, and my fellow asian friends beliefs.

it’s just common sense to respect the asians, especially chinese as liyue is based on our culture.
i understand that you want representations. but liyue is not your representation, it’s ours.

i’m sure mhy will add more countries and reps later, until then please let us keep our own reps as ours.
