13 months later of “Stay Home Save Lives,” it’s time to look at the facts. Since the Party of Science is dedicated to saving lives and trusting the data and science, let us join them in reviewing the data:
In 2020, “The United States saw the highest 1 year increase in homicides since it began keeping records, with the country’s largest cities suffering a 30% spike. Gunshot injuries also rose dramatically, to nearly 40,000.” according to @TheSeattleTimes. Who runs our major cities?
By the end of 2021, 150 million people worldwide are set to fall into extreme poverty due to the pandemic and stay at home orders, per the World Bank’s data.
In 2020, the number of calls to the national crisis hotline increased by more than 700%, according to Christopher Garrett, a spokesman for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, per @thedailywire
The CDC‘s data shows the highest number of overdose deaths ever recorded in a 12 month period, “increasing 38.4 percent from the 12-month period leading up to June 2019 compared with the 12-month period leading up to May 2020.” (The #s accelerating at the start of the pandemic.)
Per @charliekirk11 - 98% of heroin in the USA comes over our borders, which are vulnerable and open, and praised by the party who wants to save lives.
The Human Rights Org reports 185% rise in human trafficking cases amid COVID-19 pandemic as reported by ABC news, and over 100,000 businesses have closed in the USA.
So my question remains: is the science that supports stay at home orders saving lives, or is it destroying them? Is the cure worse than the cause when you’re killing livelihoods, dreams, and the mental health of millions, or is something else happening:
Because even though the World Health Organization recommended against lockdowns, (and apparently they are the experts of science) most of the world remains in lockdown. So when is it a good time to question the science instead of blindly trusting it?
Science is the new religion, and it’s a shame since the science has a poor track record of being 100% right the first time, as well as our government, who has a track record of using safety to justify tyranny.
