Gonna make a thread on the Liverpool players this season and their performances overall, and what I think their role should be next season, likes and RT appreciated
Alisson – started off the season solid enough, but hes been injured a lot. Personal circumstances led to poor form and he made 3 huge mistakes. Never looked the same since, despite a couple of decent games, but at his best is world class. 6/10. Next season - first team GK
Adrian - runs away from the goal and concedes 7 to Aston villa, enough said really. 0/10, sell him
Kelleher - done very well when called upon and cemented his place as second choice keeper. 7/10, keep him as second choice
He had COVID during pre season which led to a slow start to the season defensively and attacking wise. In recent games seemed to have fixed up but then dropped a horrible performance against Madrid, 6/10, next season first team RB
Neco - nowhere near good enough as a second choice right back, move step overs though, 4/10, loan him or sell him
Van Dijk - wasn't quite at the astronomical standards he's set himself at the start of the season but was still decent. His injury against Everton shows how much we miss not only his defending but also his leadership qualities. Pickford đź–•. 7/10. First team CB
Joe Gomez - started off the season OK, dropped a 1/10 against villa, then got another long term injury. If he can stay fit, vvd and gomez is a world class centre back partnership. 6/10, first team/rotation CB
Matip - he's world class when fit, and that's just not often enough. We needed him when vvd and gomez were out and he then also got injured. 6/10. Next season I'd preferably put him through a rehabilitation program like naby did to beef him up, or if not then just sell him.
Kabak - since he's come in he's been very solid, dropping man of the match performances in both the Premier league and champions league. He's still very young and will improve a lot. If this is him alongside Nat imagine him with VVD. 8/10. Sign him this summer
Phillips - quite literally been a hero for us, obviously nowhere near the required standard but he's stepped up massively and done himself proudđź‘Ź. His performance against madrid shows that he isn't an option long term. 8/10. Sell him whilst his value is highest.
Rhys Williams - I get that he's young, but he is far too slow and just not good enough even as a prospective option. His first team appearances will have been massive steps for him though. 6.5/10. I'd sell him or move him back to the academy.
Ben Davies - if you're below Rhys in the pecking order that's really not a good sign, sell
Robertson - started off the season well was probably one of our better players. Since the turn of the year he's been on a downward spiral and he clearly needs a rest. Also take him off corners. 6/10, first choice LB next season
Tsimikas - klopp clearly doesn't trust him to play yet, but every time he's come on he looks promising, but if things continue like this he clearly won't have a role at the club. 4.5/10, keep and use him as rotation
Fabinho - best DM in the world, world class at CB too, he's performed wherever we needed him to and he's been one of our players of the season. 9/10. Next season he will be first choice in that CDM position
Thiago - been one of our better midfielders. He's looked really good when he played alongside fabinho and he will only get better. The injury set him back a bit but the Madrid game shows how important he is to us now. 7/10. Next season probably first team midfielder.
Henderson - played midfield and CB and did what was required every time, a huge help to the team and we've missed his work rate and leadership since he was ruled out due to injury. 7/10. Rotate in the midfield position
Wijnaldum - he has small moments of good play e.g. Goal against Wolves, but he looks like he cba. He doesn't bring anything attacking wise and he clearly is not the right choice for fourth captain. Not too fussed about him leaving for barca. 4/10. Let him leave.
Keita - dropped a bad performance against Madrid, but was unlucky to be thrown in at the deep end after injury. He still has something to offer and id give him another chance if he can stay fit. 5/10. Rotation midfielder
Ox - injuries have got the better of him, hasn't really done anything except a good 10 minute spell against Wolves. 4/10. Sell him this summer
Milner - he's reliable and good at slide tackling, but he really shouldn't be starting for the Premier league champions. He's a good vice captain if Henderson is out. 6/10. Let his contract run out and then let him leave or move him to a coaching role
Jones - he's young and he's broken into the squad very well this year, proving himself as a genuine rotation option, as well as dropping good performances against spurs and ajax. He still makes some mistakes e.g WBA dribble, but overall positive. 8/10. Rotation CM next season.
Salah - player of the season. He's kept up his world class form whilst the other two of our front three have been well below standard. Without him we'd be fighting to be in the top 10 right now. 9.5/10. First team RW
Shaqiri - played good as a CAM in the game against West Ham. He's not proved himself to be prolific enough imo. 5.5/10. Sell in the summer
Mane - idk what's happened to him. He's either suffering from symptoms of long covid or he's dropped off hugely like alexia sanchez. He doesn't run, can't beat his man, first touch like lukaku and bad decisions. 2/10. Sell him if we need the money, if his form continues like this
Jota - signing of the summer, his injury had a huge effect upon our squad. Now he's back he's picked up where he left off and hopefully he can propel us to a top 4 finish. 9/10. Rotation attacker or starting CF depending on incomings
Firmino - not been great, doesn't press enough anymore and can't finish at all. His best position is CAM in a 4231 instead of ST. 3/10.Next season sell if a high offer comes in or keep him as a rotation option.
Origi - if he scored against Burnley were not in this position right now. 1/10. Thanks for the memories but it's time to sell
Minamino - dropped his best performance against Palace and then didn't feature at all? He's played decent at Southampton and he brings more to the side than origi does. 6/10. Rotation attacker.
Klopp - I don't usually blame klopp for our bad performances but some of his decisions have been very questionable, as well as his loyalty to some players. He stubbornly sticks to one plan even if it clearly isn't working and has to adapt his tactics more. 5/10. Keep obviously
