Who is Gabriel Deck, a thread for Thunder Fans to get to know the Real Madrid and Argentina’s National Team Forward:

#ThunderUp
Deck is a natural small forward that can play the 4 as well.

His numbers in Spain:

21.6 MIN
9.5 PPG
3.9 REB
1.3 AST
61% FG
30% 3P
His main weakness is his three-point shooting. However, he’s been steadily improving his mechanics, and with good coaching and development he could get better.

His main strengths are his athleticism, his rebounding and finishing at the rim.
Deck isn’t fazed when attacking the basket against bigger defenders. He can crash the glass too.

And one thing Deck doesn’t lack at all is confidence. He can take charge and get his team some buckets.

Also, he shows up in the clutch if you ask for him.
His defense and feel for the game may be the main reason of why OKC put their eyes on him.

Being a strong 6'6" forward allows him to guard 1-5, whether it’s a small guard or a bigger forward in the post (like Mirotic in this play).
He’s also a sneaky good passer, with solid court vision and enough playmaking abilities to make the right play.

He can fit smoothly in the offensive rhythm (except being a spot-up shooter).

When he’s confident, he can get flashy sometimes too.
He started to draw NBA Draft buzz from Denver a couple of years ago.

But he broke out and made noise in FIBA WC 2019, where Argentina, led by Luis Scola, Facundo Campazzo and him, made the finals after beating Serbia and France (Deck’s jersey # is 14).
This is the end of the thread.

Like Campazzo (Denver PG), he’s an Argentine that hustles EVERYTHING, and can turn into a fan favorite very quickly because of it (like Kenny Hustle here in OKC).

Oh, and his nickname is Tortu (short for tortuga, turtle in Spanish). 🐢
PS: here’s the video to watch all of his buckets during the FIBA WC.
