Just listened online to a guy talk about why he’s leaving everything he has built in Maine because he misses his family.

Any Bible verses come to mind?

Dont’t come here if you’re going to do that.

Everything you built will disappear overnight and
...leads to further trust issues with the people here who already don’t trust people from “away”

This is on the heels of another pastor resigning a week or two ago because “the Holy Spirit told me to leave.”

Don’t blame the Spirit for your inability to stay. That’s tired too.
If you’re going to come here for ministry, please plan to bury your heart here.

They can take your body when you kick it, but chances are the people will love you too much to let them do that.
An old crusty Mainer woman told me that I wouldn’t last. I would leave like all the other pastors she’s had.

Her daughter, grandkid, and great grandkids go to my church.

And I’m planning on burying them all.

Challenge accepted, granny.
