my column tomorrow is about how i am conflicted ahead of the election. and that while being pro-indy i am impressed by labour's campaign. its really just thinking aloud while knowing there is no audience for takes like that anymore.
like, i want indy but i genuinely don't think its doable in the next few years. and i don't believe either that if snp don't win a majority then it damages indy longterm. even if snp somehow lost power, they would bounce back and indy would be back on the table.
i guess i just feel we have inhaled a little too deeply of the inevitable boris/brexit bounce. i'd rather we indy was ahead in the polls on its own merits. i also think there is a world of difference between someone being open to indy in a poll and voting for it on the day
people talk like elections are a no brainer. you are pro indy or not pro indy and vote accordingly. i just find that so depressing. are there any yes voters out there who feel like that? Do you never feel conflicted?
election is always billed as make or break for indy but people saying that now have been saying that since 2015. sometimes I just tire of indy being the focus of political discussion all the time.
anyway my column is about that and everyone will fucking hate it. night x
