The weekend is almost here and people will soon be able to travel into Wales again.

With that in mind here’s a thread of seriously stunning places you can visit in Wales that aren’t Snowdon/Pen y Fan, Barry or Cardiff Bay etc.
Parys Mountain (Anglesey) - There’s nowhere else quite like this in the world. It’s like you’re exploring another planet. It was once a giant copper mine, now it’s a breathtaking heritage trail. It’s truly amazing.
Mwnt (Ceredigion)- this is one of my favourite places. A remote spot in Ceredigion with a lovely beach and endless coastal walks.
Llantwit Major (Vale of Glamorgan) - It’s the geology here that I love. But also has nice walks and a beach.
Gelli Aur Country Park - This is a hidden gem close to where I grew up in Carmarthenshire. A beautiful gothic house with woodland walks, deer and some amazing trees.
Fforest Fawr (near Caerphilly) - an ancient woodland with nice long walks, a sculpture trail and some cool old mining caves.
Laugharne (Carmarthenshire) - A lovely little town on the River Taf estuary that was immortalised by Dylan Thomas and has a great castle to explore.
Cregennan Lakes (Dolgellau) - I’ve only been here once but it might be my favourite place in the world. It’s very in the middle of nowhere but worth the journey. I can’t do it justice but it has the best view I’ve ever seen.
Cwm-yr-Eglwys (near Fishguard) - in the summer this place is paradise.
Caerphilly Castle is well worth a visit too. The actual castle is closed but it’s worth going to walk around and see the famous leaning tower. It’s even wonkier than the Leaning Tower of Pisa!
