this thread will focus on intermittent fasting !!

I'm not a professional, this is everything I learned/taught myself. if any of this information is wrong, please let me know !! stay safe ❤️
I also wanna add that you do NOT need to fast through all of the phases. do not push yourself and get hurt. please be careful and take care ❤️
what is intermittent fasting?

the refrainment from eating/drinking and restricting your eating windows.

can be 15:9 12:12 23:1

personally I do 16:8 for my windows, but do whatever works for you
phase 1 - begins right after your meal

blood sugar level rises
your body begins digestion right after intake. carbs are absorbed directly into the blood stream, your blood sugar levels rise, which makes insulin. from here 2 different things can happen

it stimulates the absorption of blood sugar. basically you get a short burst of energy

#2
stores energy. usually, the body does not need excessive amounts of sugars, so it is stored. insulin stimulates the conversion of glucose into glycogen (it's storage form)
phase 2 - begins 3 hours after your meal

blood sugar levels drop
insulin transports the glucose in your cells into cells and tissues, the amount of sugar in your blood drops.

this is when the body switches to energy from fat rather than sugar
phase 3 - begins 9 hours after your meal

blood sugar levels settle down
a brief resting period, you might get tired and your blood sugar level has lowered and become steady

(there's more science and chemistry but idk if u wanna read all that lmao)
phase 4 - begins 11 hours after your meal

fat burning
your body has taken what it can from the food you have eaten, and since you haven't eaten since your last meal your body must find an alternative energy source. your body begins to burn fat
phase 5 - begins 12-16 hours after your meal

ketosis

your body produces ketones which are fatty acid molecules. they provide energy to your organs. this stimulates your nerves so u may feel very focused and concentrated during this period
reminder:
u do not need to fast for this long. please be careful and drink a lot of water
phase 6 - begins 14-18 hours after your meal

autophagy
translated from greek means "to consume oneself" old cell parts and proteins are recycled and renewed. your body will undergo a big clean up/ clean out. this can make your cells more efficient and prolongs the life++
of your cells, which in turn can lengthen yours. i
it is not recommended that you fast more than 18 hours. please stay safe and do your own research before fasting. drink a lot of water and take care ❤️❤️
