I can't always explain how I know a character but when I do it's this deep click of understanding I rarely get with actual human beings. It makes fandom experiences more intense (usually for the better!) because I feel like the characters are Right There. character bleed baybee!
Beyond fandom I think that my autism and my experience of being autistic has absolutely made me more compassionate. It makes me better with kiddos too because hey, I don't get human adults either friends, let's hyperfocus on our current faves and wiggle excitedly with each other!
