How’s my day going? Well a spider showed up on my desk as I was in the middle of running a meeting.

We’re a spider-friendly house, by which I mean that I usually scream for my husband, and he comes and gently relocates them.

But today, he was busy teaching class downstairs...
Did I mention I was trying to run a meeting? Well this spider started frolicking all around my desk, than dropped to the ground underneath by my feet. There was no way to hide it from my colleagues, since I rolled my chair back 3 feet and was staring intently at the spider.
Now, I am well-versed thanks to @DearAnnaOlson about all the beneficial things spiders do. So I’m not going to kill it. But I’m quickly becoming the focus of the meeting instead of actual, errr, work.

Finally my husband pops up for a break...
Normally he’s the Spider Whisperer and quickly captures them and relocates them off to the farm or whatever happy spider utopia you want to think of. Win-win. They keep doing their awesome things and I don’t have to be scared. But not today.

This spider gets away from him...
My husband tries some more—mind you popping up now and then on camera but finally has to give up bc his next class is starting and my meeting finally ends.

I am about to start working when I see him back on the desk—7 feet from where he last was! I decide to capture him myself.
I go grab a clear glass and a piece of paper, but when I get back?? The spider is NOWHERE TO BE FOUND...

Completely gone, MIA...
So now I’m sitting here waiting for class to wrap up. I’ve cleared the desk of everything and I’m perched high on my chair trying to work.

I know the spider won’t hurt me, but I don’t need to interrupt my husband’s class with a blood curdling screech when it surprises me.
I will update if the spider is located, or you may just hear my shrieks.

But spiders are our friends, so even though they freak me out, I’m still committed to not harming them! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="❤️" title="Rotes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Rotes Herz">
UPDATE: The kiddo came home from work, so I made him read this thread. He finished and says matter-of-factly “Oh, *there* he is!” while looking behind me.

I jumped.
