Last year was a dark chapter.
I had really let myself go:
- Depleted bank account
- Ate to the point of self loathing
- Late night Netflix binging
- Knocking on obesity’s door
- Pointless social media trolling
- Relationship on the rocks
- No purpose
- Anxious
- 226 lbs

I was absolutely miserable.
Spinning my wheels on what diet to follow and what program to use.
Talking a big game about how I was going to be absolutely shredded by my 30th birthday.
That didn’t happen.
Obviously.
Something had to change. In both mind and body.

I had transformed my body before. Twice, I had gone from a soft 200+ lbs to a lean and agile 180.
This time was different. I could not muster the will for more than a week at a time.
Again and again I caved in the face of hunger.
Or I would tell myself “diet starts tomorrow”.

It’s taken me a year to go from my worst shape to the picture you see on the right (Which is still levels below where I have been).
- Program hopping
- Yo-yo dieting
- Hours of YouTube fitness content consumed
I tried everything.
Finally, I realized what the problem was.

I couldn’t do it alone.
My previous transformations had occurred when I had the support of my tennis team.
I didn’t have that anymore.
Not only did I not have a tribe, I didn’t have a greater mission to pursue. Or a mentor to guide me on that mission.

These are the things a man MUST have in order to live an fulfilling life and make lasting change:
- A Mission
- A tribe to help you achieve it
- A mentor to guide the way
I am nowhere near completion of my mission.
But I have determined my mission and found my tribe.
