headcanon that thirteen could have escaped the space prison any time she wanted but chose to stay there since she didn’t know what kind of person she would be letting out after the whole timeless child reveal. the absolute angst, the guilt for a past she doesn’t know. i want it

it just...annoys me that jack had to help her escape. and she accepted his help. like she could have escaped prison EASILY, maybe she WANTED to stay bc she felt like she deserved it since she doesn’t know what she did while she was apparently in the division.

i just think a more interesting direction would have been the doctor refusing to escape with jack, and saying that since she doesn’t know who she is anymore she’s staying put. all i’m saying is thirteen could have escaped with her eyes closed and we could have got more angst

maybe jack could have convinced her to escape bc the earth is in danger and they need the doctor? bc the universe needing the doctor is what persuaded twelve to regenerate so it would work here too? the prison plot line annoys me sometimes, the missed opportunities smh
