After:

3.4K pages, 36K text blocks, and 17K page connections...

I'm restarting my @RoamResearch database. 💣 💥

Why restart? Roam has changed my life!

well, so I can build it up again... LIVE

... with a group of you. 🥰
My ultimate fear with note-taking and productivity apps:

• All inputs, no outputs
• Busyness without meaning
• Sound and fury signifying nothing https://twitter.com/theflowingsky/status/1379616325308325888?s=21
Roam has legitimately changed my life. Never has an app:

• Felt like how I actually think
• Capable of systems-building, but not forced
• Let's me build compound interest around my thoughts

Using Roam is like "retweeting" my own brain.
In @balajis's incredible discussion on @tferriss Show, he talks about media as software:

The language we absorb actively programs the software of our minds.

Great note-taking apps allow YOU to program your own mind, instead of someone else doing it. https://bit.ly/3uwmkUE
Over time my Roam has grown, but I want to make sure the way I use it is INTENTIONAL.

And I want to apply what I've learned over the course of 15 months so it's maximally useful to me, instead of being a grab bag for every thought. https://twitter.com/MarcKoenig_/status/1377599068936019976
In March I got to co-lead a 2-day Roam workshop with @aliabdaal.

(Was fun & got near-perfect feedback 🙏 )

A big takeaway: it's a big task for even highly talented learners to apply game-changing frameworks in 4 hrs, if they're truly starting from step 0.
so NEW GOAL

Make a video series where folks learn Roam...

• 1-3 items at a time, building on on another
• Over 30 days, so it can become a habit
• With 5 specific Core Use Cases to build toward

So I thought, why not do it LIVE with motivated folks first? 😇
The course is called 30 Days of Roam.

This is beta, early access, hands-on for a select few people (targeting 30, no more than 100!)

I'm starting my Roam fresh so I can implement each technique as we go and at a natural pace.
The course is built for true beginners - or anyone who wants to add more structure and reboot their Roam.

This is early access so we'll be doing short-live sessions + Q&A together pretty much single every weekday (with recordings distributed daily to those who can't attend live)
Planning to take the learnings from this cohort and turn it into a self-paced YT series. I'm a firm believer that "beginner" level tutorial info "wants to be free" - and will be eventually. :)

So if you jump in, you're contributing to the future free access of the curriculum!
Sound like something you'd be interested in?

Sign up at the bottom of this page to hear when we open up!

Course is open for registration on this coming Monday at 10 AM CDT (GMT-5), email list gets first access.

Hope to build together with some of you!

P.S. I'm definitely going to keep a backup of my current Roam for reference and to selectively restore in the future as I see how this goes. :)

But I like the challenge of starting fresh with everyone else!
P.P.S. I'm currently part of #ODCC1 Course Creators fellowship led by Andrew Barry @Bazzaruto

I'll be sharing more on my experience launching a first course while attending the @beondeck fellowship.
