My mum used to tell us of a tragic story that her Aunty Elizabeth was brushing her long red hair at the fire one day when it caught fire.She ran out into the street and the local butcher tried to save her. I decided to look up the BNA if there was anything in the Dundee Courier

Attached is what I found and details what actually happened on that tragic day in February 1913 and 2 days later.
The story must have been made up to protect her siblings from doing the same or perhaps due to the stigma of suicide in those days.
