Do people really think that “generational curses” implies literal *magical* curses placed on a family? Because that’s not my definition of a generational curse.

I use the term “generational curse” to take note of toxic patterns that are passed down through generations.
When I say “I’m fighting my generational curses” I’m not saying that I believe a witch or fairy centuries ago cursed my family and I’m breaking the curse. I mean that I’ve noticed the negative, growth-impeding patterns that are apparent in my family and I refuse to fall into them
It means I’m aware that my family have, for generations, fallen into the same habit of toxic and unhealthy behaviours...and I will do my work daily to break free of that cycle.

It’s really not as *mystical* as it sounds. But it seems some people think it is a mystical concept.
