Friends, I am a believing Latter-day Saint. I am also a sociologist. Discipline and discipleship often must be reconciled and it can be challenging.
That said, I've been struck by some of the messages that I've heard from Latter-day Saint leaders and others in the past week.

Three beautiful sermons at the church's semiannual general conference really had some deep sociological content.
The first is @DaleGRenlund's talk "Infuriating Unfairness." https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2021/04/25renlund?lang=eng

OH! There's a fourth from general conference I should mention. @StevensonGaryE's "Hearts Knit Together." https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2021/04/15stevenson?lang=eng
The last is my colleague Ryan Gabriel's @BYUSpeeches devotional "Healing Racism Through Jesus Christ." https://speeches.byu.edu/talks/ryan-gabriel/healing-racism-through-jesus-christ/
These beautiful sermons have convinced me further of @NelsonRussellM's injunction that "there is no conflict between science and religion. Conflict only arises from an incomplete knowledge of either science or religion, or both."
