So much to love about the new streaming TV world. One thing I miss is being able to sit with each writer on staff and ask what aspect of the process they want more experience in then folding them into it. Production, post... Current model has writers out...

... out the door after a draft. No chance for them to learn — no ability for a showrunner to benefit from their creativity — beyond that. (Never mind they miss seeing their script evolve through the process into its final form.)

Accidental results include senior writers who don’t get to produce until they’re making their first pilot.
