One of my schticks is that people frequently misconstrue the Schelling model of segregation. On my read this is moral of the paper, confusingly placed 1/3 of the way in. His point is one cannot rely on the end of de jure segregation to end de facto segregation. We need busing!
iirc I inherited this schtick from @KevinZollman , is that right Kevin?
(The frequent misreads, for thems outside the debate, is that Schelling was saying that segregation in fact arose from voluntary and uncoerced choices about where to live, which is absurd, or that segregation is morally blameless and therefore fine, which is not at all his point)
