I concede that the SSPX's stance on never attending the NO is at least plausibly true, and even if it is still theoretically possible to attend a non-harmful NO, on a practical level the vast majority of NO Masses are bad and abusive enough to be avoided at all costs.

...that's one heck of a prudential call to have to make as a mere layman, and I don't want it on my soul if I've somehow gotten the theological calculus wrong on that one.

Thus, I simply refuse to live anywhere where the NO is my only option for Sunday Mass. It's safer that way.
