My father has tested negative after 20 days and I have finally taken a steady breath! But with every passing day, I have seen so many positive cases in people around me. Severe, scary and heartbreaking. đŸ˜Ș Praying for all suffering with their loved onesđŸ™â€ïž
I recently realized through a very close friend that people are still clueless on how to deal with positive, planning everything, putting care over social drama, and more.
So, here are a few people whose lessons in putting it out helped me.
This is a tweet by @Akshay001 which I remembered and followed but with my own rendition on a Notes app. Oxygen, Pulse, Temperature & BP- every hour. I had another set of reminders for every hour for meals & liquids. https://twitter.com/Akshay001/status/1319763104008343552
Then this detailed thread by @drriteshmalik was also a passive reminder I had. I was the only caretaker for my dad and cleaning his room to everything else, so these methods helped. I am grateful for these threads! https://twitter.com/drriteshmalik/status/1278357040188977152
One personal lesson was: information is power. I, of course, come from the privilege that I only needed my father to recover and not bother about myself. But when I heard my dad say he is positive, I tried to calm him down, end the call & cried. A LOT. but it was crucial
was that I knew my plan of action. I called up @rahulrmv & @dawalelo to connect with Covid doctors, described my dad's case & understood every nuance to take care of him & my family. I have come to realize many people don't armor themselves with information. But you should!
