Have interviewed several people for @futuromedia this week and all the interviews went great. So many talented people out there, but here's a problem: none of the candidates have sent a follow-up email to thank us for the interview. Not one. That surprised me.
These positions are very competitive and I just think that as a hiring person, getting a simple thank you email might give you an edge. That is all.
And never expected for this to be a thread that would generate so many comments, but I do welcome them and also have learned how others feel. That is always helpful. Thanks to all who shared their experiences. It is always helpful to understand other thoughts about this.
Just don't make assumptions that I don't write back to candidates or that I don't thank them for their time. I do. I have been doing that for years. Will always do it. There are so many amazing people out there. It's always a plus to meet them and get to know them better.
