So, someone was shot nearby us last night. Thankfully sounds like he’ll survive. Very crazy for what is now a not cheap area to live in. Whole Foods 5 blocks away, Union Market etc..but actually wasn’t surprising 1/x https://twitter.com/realtimenews10/status/1379998042917642240
The house was a trap house. Or being set up to be one. Pretty obvious that every tenant over last year or so was dealing. Each one only lasted a month or two
It was obvious to anybody nearby. Just piles of loose garbage. Screaming, sketchy people. We struggled with what to do. Gave them garbage bags. Called 311, but didnt feel right calling the cops without any evidence.
They all had families. At least 2 kids were in the house at the time of the shooting.
Also been inundated with rats from all the loose garbage
It all comes down to the owner though. They seem to be coordinating or enabling it.
If it helps the discussion, i’m actually from dc (it won’t)
Being accused of a transplant gentrifier is interesting when the party in question moved in literally yesterday
