(THREAD) Jonny Depp fans scour the Internet for people to silence people over his domestic violence.

They use racism, lies and gaslighting. I first tweeted about Depp a few weeks ago. And they all piled-on...

Have seen many coordinated bullying and gaslighting campaigns (thanks Labour antisemitism!) means I can spot them a mile off. And this one had flashing lights on...

Lots of claims were made about the victim, but no one would answer if it was accurate to call Depp a wife beater (as per the court verdict).

A week or so later, and I did another tweet. And up they all popped with even more bizarre claims...

This time they completely denied the verdict. They bizarrely claimed that Depp losing his case was a ruling against the victim’s behaviour....

One of them even posted me a demented chart to “prove” the court case was a fix. This is Qanon and far right style extremism...

They had done their “research” I was repeatedly informed. In their minds twitter pile-ons replace the rule of law.

And their profiles even show their obsession and intentions...

Then the racist abuse started. They claimed it was only a matter of time before I played the “antisemite card” because I was Jewish.

And I must be the same person as another Jew because neither of us agree with wife beating....

We are “connected” because I retweet someone from my community. That Jewish hive mind...

Not happy with that, they co-opted an entirely different case about revenge porn to prove that Depp was the victim of a miscarriage of justice.

It uses the female victim of abuse to exonerate a perpetrator of abuse towards a female....

These people are reduced to shouting bizarre excuses at strangers on social media, such as “his friends like him” and “he didn’t beat anyone else that we know of”....

These are the type of people who make jokes about domestic violence...

Depp fans are running a coordinated campaign on social media to exonerate him by blaming the victim and denying reality. Their behaviour proves that abuse does not end with beatings.

They are immoral, desperate, incessant, overwhelmingly stupid and well organised. /ends
