For me, Yom HaShaoh is a very difficult day.

Every day is the same on the internet, of course. There’s casual antisemitism around every corner, and that’s something we learn to bite our tongues abour and just live with.

On this day, however, it brings a different kind of hurt
On a day honoring my ancestors, seeing micro aggressions and stereotypes, in addition to straight up slurs and propaganda, is exhausting.

not only exhausting, but devastating. Existing on the internet as a jew means being constantly reminded that the struggles your ancestors-
died for still exist today, and there’s nothing you can do about it. There’s nothing we can do about it because nobody cares.

Antisemitism is called the oldest hatred. This is because as long as Judaism has existed, there have been those that oppose it.
Because of this, it is so deeply embedded and hidden in all facets of society to the point where to Non-Jews it is nearly undetectable.

We know it when we see it because we HAVE to. We need to learn who and what to avoid from a young age. I learned in elementary school.
Since it is so difficult to spot if you don’t know what you’re looking for, it allows for cognitive dissonance to take over, which enables people to brush antisemitism under the rug.

This is what we need you to fight against. Fight against the instinct to get defensive,
and just listen. Please listen to us, for once. We know what antisemitism looks like. We live it every day. It is exhausting.

Please learn the signs, and listen to jewish people.

We are hurting, and we need help. #NeverAgain
