Planning a #Wildcard? Looking for CHEAP enablers and bench fodder so you can crowbar all the premium geezers into your starting XI? ME TOO! Let’s see what’s in the #FPL Bargain Basement...

(thread)

Let’s have a cheeky look at the cheapest of the cheap FPL assets who could feature prominently in the remaining 8 gameweeks of the season. I’ll throw down my best-educated gut-instinct probability that these players nail down a starting place for the final stretch.

... and I’ll do some terrible photoshop along the way.
Vydra (£4.8m) will almost certainly be in my Wildcard team next week.
While Ashley Barnes remains sidelined his only competition for starts is Jay Rodriguez, who Dyche appears to prefer to use from the bench of late. Recent good performances make him a decent mid/longterm shout.

Nat Phillips (£4.0) represents a budget entry into the Liverpool defence, who have improved of late. VVD is unlikely to return this season & Phillips has built a solid partnership with Kabak so he is a very secure start.
Would make a Salah/Trent/Jota triple up impossible.

He’s back & he’s even cheaper. News of Luiz’s injury must have been music to some Arsenal fans ears, as Holding (£4.2m) looked steady in defence early this season before he was harshly dropped. Solid fixtures & only Mari (£4.4m) to compete makes Rob MAXIMUM SECURITY

£4.0m starting keepers have been conspicuous in their absence this year. Welcome throwback option Fraser Forster to the fold. A possible DGW makes him a tempting add but remember:
he’s only ever one sketchy match away from being dropped for former no.1 Alex McCarthy.

Arsenal are blessed with some very talented youngsters, and their very skilful no.10 also happens to be as cheap as you can get. He’s recovered from a knock picked up on international duty but is he still in Arteta’s plans? He ought to be, and he could be a useful enabler.
After a very long injury lay-off, speedy wingback Masuaku (£4.3m) picked up an assist on his return last week. If Moyes commits to playing that system Masuaku would make a cheap alternative to Coufal or even Cresswell. One to watch (if you can wait)...

The versatile Amartey (£3.9m) presents an interesting conundrum. As long as Soyuncu is sidelined he seems to be in Brendan Rodgers’ plans. He occasionally pops up OOP in midfield & could feature sporadically (in a top side) until the end of the season.
Approach with caution

Using 1 to 4 of these enablers will help you fit many premium assets into your squads but beware: any more than 4 cheap players is a recipe for disaster. Most of them aren’t even guaranteed starters, let alone strong fantasy points-scorers. Buy cheap buy twice.
