The following thread will lay out in detail some information about a project like no other I’ve ever seen.

Their ecosystem proposes a practical, yet elegant solution to existing issues on $ETH, and it is still relatively small in terms of market cap...

Let’s dive in 🍞
@dfohub was started by several skilled + well connected $ETH devs, and it is supported by the Ethereum Foundation along with many other big names within the industry.

They were invited to EDCON in 2020 to speak with individuals along the likes of $LINK, $AAVE, $ETC, and $UMA
@dfohub introduces the concept of a decentralized flexible organization (DFO). These are similar to DAO’s in function, but with a few key differences

DFO’s are “flexible” in the way that token holders can actually vote to change ecosystem parameters on the blockchain
This way, DFO’s launched via DFOHUB’s platform can consist of constantly upgrading parameters voted on by token holders in the community

Put simply, their platform offers “new ways to create and govern On-Chain Enterprise-Free Organizations”

However, that is not all...
The @dfohub ecosystem has since expanded into something far greater than many would think at first glance.

There are a multitude of projects now building on DFOHUB, which have quite the implications...

I’ll go over some of these briefly below
1. $BUIDL

As the native token of the DFOHUB ecosystem, $BUIDL is used to vote on and/or add features to existing DFO’s created via DFOHUB

This may consist of voting on things like:

-adding new functions
-editing front end
-managing treasury funds
-upgrading the core system
As you can tell, this will be quite useful for a number of applications in DeFi.

Holding $BUIDL is essentially like being on the board of directors for all of the DFO’s deployed via DFOHUB for their unique R&D process and flexibility offered on the platform
2. $ITEMS

To me, this is the most interesting project on DFOHUB. Powered by $BUIDL, ETHITEM is described as a platform which:

Combines “ERC20s, ERC721s and ERC1155s into a single superstandard, ITEMs unleash the true power of art, games, dApps and DeFi.”

Pretty crazy, right?
This means that, using $ITEMS, #NFT’s can be farmed on dApps, swapped on Uniswap, or possibly even be borrowed through a platform like $AAVE.

This new token standard by $ITEMS opens up a world of possibilities for the field of non fungible tokens and how they can be used in DeFi
3. $UNIFI

Thanks to the eloquent devs at $BUIDL, an issue was found with Uniswap’s routing that had slowly allowed vampire bots to arb hundreds of millions of dollars from liquidity pools

This inspired the creation of $UNIFI, an optimized AMM dex aggregator powered by $BUIDL
“By liberating on-chain AMM aggregation, it allows any wallet, DAPP, DFO, DAO or customized smart contract to farm, inflate, multi-swap, arbitrage, craft liquidity, collateralize stablecoins and more across multiple AMMs at the same time.”
4. MATERIA

Materia is the next project to be released by $BUIDL, & it serves as a multi-standard decentralized exchange

“By implementing the new $ITEMS protocol Materia can reduce some of the problems that plague DEXs by breaking into the world of gamification and NFT exchange”
What has been discussed in this thread so far are just projects that have been made by the $BUIDL team on DFOHUB.

Let’s now take a look at some of the projects unrelated to the $BUIDL team, who are using DFOHUB to deploy their own DFO’s.
1. Penguin Party Fish $FISH

Penguin Party Fish was first introduced in the DAOHUB discord a few months back by Hiturunk, a top uniswap delegate.
“We are the only Decentralized Delegation on Uniswap, and we are totally community-run.”

Essentially, Penguin Party Fish serves as a “functional 2nd layer DAO” allowing Uniswap voters to make small, qualitative decisions on layer two.”

$FISH is currently around $5M mcap!
2. Smart Shop

SmartShop is “a commmunity-managed platform for building/operating modular vending machines on Ethereum.

And it is a brief overview on the thin border between an e-commerce machine and a more generalistic DEFI tool.”
3. NFTHUB

“NFTHUB is an in-development platform focused on streamlining NFT discovery, integration, and adoption as well as on bringing together the industries best, brightest and most creative into a collective thinktank and community environment to foster collaboration and..
to solidify a foundation of people with aligned values to protect the things we love in this space as we rapidly approach mainstream adoption, and the interest of the corporate elite”
By now I’m sure you’re aware it is quite clear that a number of high end projects are building on the DFOHUB platform.

This has garnered the project a lot of attention, leading to them making appearances with the top tokens in the $ETH ecosystem at EDCON in 2020
For reference, here are the respective market capitalizations of the projects invited to EDCON along with BUIDL.

$258M $AVA
$694M $CKB
$1.7B $STX
$1.4B $UMA
$186M $RLC
$144M $DATA
$4.4B $AAVE
$647M $LRC
$12.8B $LINK
$2.1B $ETC
$228B $ETH

$13M $BUIDL

Notice a difference? 🤔
So, what is my point of all of this?

Well, $BUIDL and the DFOHUB project is still in what they consider the “beta phase”, where they are focused mainly on research and development of the project

Very soon, the protocol will head to a massive upgrade, which will coincide with...
A big push for developers to build on the “polished” version of the protocol

Since it has already attracted such attention from the names mentioned previously whilst still in beta, I’m sure we can expect a large number of DFO’s being deployed soon, using $BUIDL for governance.
TLDR;

$BUIDL is one of the most impressive tokens I have seen to date.

It is supported by industry leaders, and has a very unique use case in the space

The $BUIDL token already encompasses tens of millions of dollars in DFO’s, yet its only $13M mcap! 🍞 https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/dfohub
