I genuinely feel this take is often had by people who do one or all of A.) Don't understand politics B.) Have abusive tendencies C.) Never engaged with most leftists on a serious level https://twitter.com/afrodykee/status/1379837452408524801
Nevermind the fact that most people are groomed by those around them into white supremacist beliefs. Anyone who believes in reformative justice but that people "can't change" are holding an irrational, mutually exclusive system of beliefs
And that often minorities especially in the south will fall into spreading right wing beliefs in order to defend themselves or lessen the oppression they deal with. I.e who held conservative values to avoid having to deal with a constant barrage of transphobia
If you've been hurt by nazi's, most likely those who leave their ranks feel deeply wounded by them too and all you do by dog-whistling that they're in hiding still as nazis while clearly being left-wing currently is make them avoid you and others like you
I say it's abusive with some people because I genuinely think that they see people who've changed as lesser than them and therefore feel a power trip isolating or hurting them however they can. Be it either due to past trauma relating to who they internally associate them to
