So yesterday a man posted that his tree crew was looking for somewhere to cut before they went back home. I contacted him and told him we had tons of trees, because it’s true. He came out and quoted us a ridiculously low price of $1500 for a massive clearing.
We didn’t think they were going to show up, but at 8am they were here with a truck and a giant crane. I called and told him we had the money for him and he said, “you and your mom have a lot going on with this tornado. I can’t take your money. There is more to life than money.”
There are literally actually criminals running around trying to charge people thousands upon thousands of dollars to cut down trees. I ran up on actually kindness personified and I can’t stop crying. These people are doing for free what I honestly expected FEMA to do, help.
I can’t believe he wouldn’t take the money. I just can’t.
This is the man’s business. If you live in Illinois, call him. He’s clearly an Angel and will do you right. https://www.facebook.com/squirrelcares/
This is all they brought with them. They cut down and moved 30 trees before 10am and they are still there.
When I told y’all that I lived in the wilderness, I wasn’t kidding. All of that is my yard. Instead of a fence like normal people, my dad had privacy acres of forest. He called them privacy woods. That’s a thing in the south.
Look at what they did to this side of my yard. A before and after.
