Ok I& #39;m going to share this story because I want people to see how insidious solo thinking is.

When I first joined ARMY twt, I literally had no idea what I was doing or who to follow, so I just followed a bunch of JM bias accts, bc they were sharing JM content so why not?
(I also followed other biased accts but I followed a higher number of JM accts)

I didn& #39;t tweet anything, I barely even liked or RTed, I just observed. And there were quite a few accts that I started respecting. Then I began to notice that they were talking a lot about how much +
JM was mistreated, unappreciated by ARMY, needed people to defend him because there seemed to be some & #39;group& #39; who hated him. And because these were people I followed for awhile, I started wondering if they were right. I really didn& #39;t see anything myself but you trust that these +
accounts are ARMY so they would have no reason to exaggerate things, right? There wouldn& #39;t be any ulterior motive for claiming that JM was mistreated, because why would anyone want that to be true?

So I followed a report account, and I only ever reported things that were +
legitimately awful but there did seem to be other things that they wanted reported that didn& #39;t make sense, or they wouldn& #39;t give you the actual reason or & #39;proof& #39;, but would just say & #39;report, trust me& #39;. And it made me uncomfortable but I still didn& #39;t know that sol0s were a thing +
I wouldn& #39;t say it ever got to the point where I believed that JM was mistreated, but I believed that THEY believed JM was mistreated.
It just so happened that after a few months, I started feeling more comfortable on ARMY twt and I started following a lot more people, which inevitably meant I was seeing people criticizing this way of thinking. And the more these other people discussed why these things weren& #39;t+
true, the more I realized I had almost fallen into something very bad. And I& #39;m sure some people still don& #39;t see why it can be very bad but that& #39;s a different conversation. I unfollowed a lot of people and my tl was a lot more peaceful, happier.
So THAT is why I speak out against sol0s. Not because I enjoy it or because I want to bring negativity onto people& #39;s tls, but because making our voices known to people who may only hear one side could help someone realize how bad it actually is.
And I& #39;m kind of embarrassed about this but I literally had no idea it was even a thing that I had to be careful of so... https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙃" title="Auf den Kopf gestelltes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Auf den Kopf gestelltes Gesicht">
+ I forgot to mention... when the only people you see all think a certain way, it can be really hard to disagree with them, even in your own head. And then if your only friends are like this, then you know that you& #39;ll lose your friends if you disagree with them.
