A thread about Fate/stay night realta nua’s Last episode and why it’s important

I see several people saying that Last episode is either not needed or it’s fan service for the Saber goons when that is completely untrue and I’m here today to explain why it’s important

Last episode is another epilogue for the Fate route in the VN that came out with the release of Realta nua back in 2007. You unlock it by completing all 5 main endings in FSN. After your journey through FSN is complete you get to read through Last episode

Last episode is such a good way to end off FSN after everything you went through especially in HF with Saber dying in there by the hands of Shirou

Okay starting off why is Last episode important you ask well it’s because of several reasons so I’ll get into them all. Last episode shows us what happens to Shirou after the Fate route and how painful his journey was along with paralleling with Saber’s

Shirou kept moving forward with his ideals even though it was painful while Archer failed doing this and it’s because Shirou had something to hold onto which was Saber while Archer didn’t have anything. Shirou also stayed faithful to Saber his whole life

Saber saw Shirou’s life through a dream and how sad it was. Saber saw Shirou’s pain while basically nobody else did. She was there with him she knows his strengths and weaknesses. Even though Saber had a eternal promise she still wanted to meet Shirou

No matter what Merlin told her telling her it’s a pipe dream that’s not worth it and that it would be better to remain a dream. In order for it to happen Shirou would need to keep pursuing his dream while Saber had to wait for all eternity and that’s what happened

The one shot manga of Last episode shows us that Merlin was the one to let Shirou inside Avalon

Saber was never able to live a life for herself and was left unrewarded after everything she did until Shirou eventually ends up meeting with Saber in Avalon where they can both start a new journey together after all the pain they suffered

So in conclusion last episode is a rewarding experience that shows us that Saber can finally have a happy life with her lover Shirou that pressed forward with his ideals and never failed like Archer did while staying faithful to her to the very end
