stop saying these phrases; a thread
disclaimer: this is just my opinion of different phrases that can be harmful especially when it's unwarranted
disclaimer 2: there are different types of eating disorders and not everyone with one "looks" like it. pls be kind to everyone no matter what, you never know what they are going through.
1. "you eat alot/you're rly gonna eat all of that?"

this one is self explanatory. it can make people feel shameful & can cause people to develop a fear of eating around other
2. "that's all you're gonna eat?"

like the previous one, this one can make ppl feel bad and not want to eat around others. don't comment on how little or how much someone eats
3. "just eat"

self explanatory again. eating disorders are a mental illness and it's not as simple as "just eat"
4. "you have a nice body idk why you would think otherwise"

again, it's a mental illness. no one chooses to have an ed. and not to mention, eating disorders aren't always about body image/self esteem issues
5. "I wish I was skinny like you"

this one makes me angry and rightfully so. just stop saying this to anyone no matter what. you never know what someone has gone through and comments like this are just uncalled for
6. "you look like you've lost weight, have you been working out?"

this one is pretty self explanatory. stop using someone's appearance/size as a way to make conversation when greeting someone
7. trauma dumping.

this includes commenting "I wasn't gonna eat today anyways" and stuff like that on people's posts. this is not a compliment and is extremely insensitive. comment sections aren't for trauma dumping (unless stated otherwise)
This is really all I have for this thread but feel free to add any if necessary. I think it is important to create a kinder environment and educate people on seemingly innocent phrases that can be incredibly harmful.
once again, please be kind to people you never know what someone might be going through. Pls reach out to someone if you are struggling and need help. you are valid. remember that

if you are on pro-ed twt do not fucking interact with this thread. you will be blocked /srs
I was requested to add this and I think its vv important to add
another point brought up, saying stuff like "I could never eat all that" or "I would puke that's a lot of food" just isn't okay
ALSO I said how commenting about someone losing weight is harmful but so it commenting on weight gain. it's super harmful and uncalled for
this one is also super important. suffering from an eating disorder isn't as black and white as ppl think it is and I think this person worded it perfectly
