I just taught a class where only 5 students showed up, none of them had their cameras on, and only 1 student spoke when I asked questions.

Y'all I had videos, gifs, activities. I came with smiles and jokes.

It was the most dejected I have felt while teaching in the pandemic.

Whew this tweet is blowing up and I can’t keep up. I just want to clarify a couple things:
1. I don’t blame students. It’s so hard out here. I know you’re tired and I see you and support you however you show up.
2. I’ll never make people turn on their cameras. Not in a panny.

3. It’s still hard though, for everyone involved.
4. I didn’t expect this to resonate with folks but I sure don’t want this tweet to become a shitty breeding ground for placing blame. Shit’s too hard for everyone right now.
5. Blame the panny, not the people.
