watching the tv show lost on minimal amounts of sleep with your mum whomst is high on nhs issued painkillers is the most optimal way to watch that show, actually
remember how in the first couple of episodes of lost, locke seemed like the creepiest mfer alive. and then that turned out to not be the case but then further on he really did turn into the creepiest mfer alive
evangeline lilly on this show has to be one of the most gorgeous women ever on screen. i literally don't care that her storyline is fucking stupid, i just wanna stare at her face
the main point i'm taking away from rewatching these early episodes is that sayid was done dirty. absolutely should have been a far more important and prominent character than he ended up being
i forgot how episodes in season 1 would just end w/ an upbeat montage set to hippie beach bum music after 45 minutes of absolutely fucked up shit happening. kinda wish they'd really leaned into it, just twin peaks the return'd every single episode of the show including the finale
i'd somehow completely forgotten that charlie was a catholic
I'd basically forgotten all the catholic stuff in lost tbh. in my head I've been remembering it as all new agey shit
it's so weird watching young ian somerhalder in this. i always think of him as damon
yesss we're finally at confidence man. this might be an unpopular opinion but i like this episode even more than walkabout but that might be because i'm a sawyer stan
sawyer blackmailing kate into kissing him... has not aged well
charlie and claire's imaginary peanut butter <3
sayid going into self imposed exhile because he's addicted to torturing people 2 episodes after he insisted that everyone needed to stay on the beach so that they were visible to rescuers is peak 'shit, we need to find 24 episodes worth of storylines'
lol at them speaking Arabic for about 5 seconds in sayid's flashback but they can't be bothered to keep it up so speak accented english for the rest of the episode. that's what you get for casting a british indian guy as an iraqi i guess
how vexed do you think daniel dae kim was that he had to basically learn korean from scratch and then as he watched season 1 he realised naveen andrews was just allowed to do that accent?
claire episodes are creepy as shit wtf
i like how even this early into season 1 the show just admits that every single jack episode is gonna be about daddy issues
i mean most episodes are about daddy issues but jack episodes even more so
sometimes this show does something that reminds you that this is an american network show from 2004 like unnecessary flashbacking to Charlie making his fate finger tape after finding one of them on the floor
incredible foreshadowing with boone talking about feeling like a redshirt there
ah yes, the episode with boone's incest vision quest. i'd forgotten that one.
i like charlie as a character but his flashback episodes aren't my favourite because all the supporting characters sound like they should be in a dickens novel. also i get 'you all everybody' stuck in my head for hours afterwards and that's annoying.
if lost was a currently airing show there's a strong possibility that sawyer/sayid would be one of the most popular ships i think
i think i might be a skate shipper... oops
i know jack's dad was somehow extremely crucial to the show's mythology but i don't remember how
hurley's storylines hit different for me as an adult whose been through similar shit (not winning the lottery with cursed numbers, the mental health stuff lol)
in hindsight we all should have realised much sooner that locke wasn't a worthy candidate when he got Boone killed, lied about it and then dipped whilst jack tried to save him (this is not a pro jack post)
it's very easy to justify locke's bullshit for a long time just because jack is such an unlikeable bellend but he was actually right specifically about locke and locke only from the jump. (again, this is not a pro-jack post)
jack and sun are doing medical shit together in one episodes exudes more chemistry than he ever has with kate

i definitely wouldn't have wanted a version of the show where jack and sun were a romantic option but i'm remembered that yunjin kim originally auditioned for the role of kate and the implications are very interesting
the most unrealistic bit of writing in the entire series is the part where the cia is smart enough to figure out that sayid is looking for nadia and using the knowledge as leverage against him
sawyer thinking there's nothing on the island worth staying for is cute considering what happens later
hey it's ana lucia. there's another female character who got a lot of hate for reasons i don't understand
i clown on jack a lot but matthew fox's reaction acting whilst sawyer is telling jack about his conversation with jack's dad before he died is good as hell
i feel like the jin and sun storyline might not play out like it does if the show had been made today and i think that's a shame. lost is very much about redemption and jin's storyline is one of the best examples
