With the end of the women's college basketball tournament yesterday and men's tournament tonight and the 93rd Academy Awards later this month, I've made a bracket to determine which of the films released in the 2010s and nominated for Best Picture is the best: #2010sMovieMadness.
This exercise isn't to determine the best movie of the decade. The Academy often fails to give nominations to specific genres of film and there are always Oscar snubs. Rather, it's to determine which film recognized by The Academy Twitter believes is the best. #2010sMovieMadness
88 films released between 2010 and 2019 received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, so I ranked them from No. 1 to No. 88 and removed the 24 that didn't make the cut. Those films are listed, by year and then alphabetical order, in the attached image. #2010sMovieMadness
I present to you: the full 64-film bracket. (Note: Though I won't share the process behind rankings/seedings, I can assure you it was done objectively and was not influenced by any single person's subjective view of a film. I haven't even seen all of them yet.) #2010sMovieMadness
Each of the four quadrants has been named after the film that made the most at the worldwide box office, per Box Office Mojo (by @IMDb). #2010sMovieMadness

• Top Left: "La La Land"
• Top Right: "The Martian"
• Bottom Right: "Toy Story 3"
• Bottom Left: "Black Panther"
I will tweet out polls in the mornings to determine the winner of each matchup. That will all be done in this thread. #2010sMovieMadness
The Round of 64 will take place over the course of this week, starting tomorrow morning, the day after the men's college basketball championship. Each day of the week through Friday will cover one quadrant of the bracket. Round of 64 polls will run 20 hours. #2010sMovieMadness
From there, I have a tentative, but not finalized, schedule. That's still something I'm working on, but the hope is to crown a champion by Friday, April 23 — the Friday prior to the 93rd Academy Awards on Sunday, April 25. #2010sMovieMadness
So be sure to return to this thread on Tuesday morning (Pacific time) to begin voting, and may the best movie win! #2010sMovieMadness
The formatting on a previous tweet in this thread explaining the naming of the four quadrants was bothering me, so I've re-ordered those four pictures here so it actually looks like the bracket. Sorry about that! #2010sMovieMadness

Next week, we'll cover both the Round of 32, Sweet Sixteen, AND Elite Eight. Each matchup, much like the Round of 64, will be 20 hours long. The difference, however, is that they'll start and finish one hour later — from 10AM to 6AM PT rather than 9AM to 5AM. #2010sMovieMadness
That will allow longer polls the following week for the Final Four and Championship ahead of the 93rd Academy Awards. I hope you'll all stick around for that.

See you on Monday morning! #2010sMovieMadness
The #2010sMovieMadness Round of 32 will begin in two hours, so be back to this thread then to get your votes in.
