NASIR the album review (a thread)
THE WYOMING SESSIONS !!
The 5 seven song albums (except K.T.S.E which has 8) executive produced by Kanye West at his Lake ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
These babies were released weekly (in that order ☝🏾) and I love em all
Already reviewed Ye 👇🏾 https://twitter.com/KaySito_/status/1372144639571021828?s=19
NASIR, Nas' twelfth studio album features appearances from Mr West, Puff Daddy, 070 shake, Tony Williams and The dream with the great hooks (truly sensational imo)
and also has producers Benny Blanco, Mike Dean among others' touch on it
Aight enough with the formality let's dive right into it....
I personally feel like NASIR is overhated and I think it's partly cuz of the sensitive topics on here and the fact that it didn't live up to the hype that was created before it's release(yea I agree to this too) not forgetting the conspiracies that received mixed criticism by
many on the opening track of the album.. other than that I still think it's a good album that I'd give
an easy 7.5/10 (forget my previous rating, that was before I listened to it was written)
The general feel/theme of the album is empowerment.. of black people, women (equality) etc
Track breakdown

1. Not for Radio
The opening track of the album and one of my favorites (partly cuz of the fact that I'm African) that has Nas throwing shots at politicians and dropping "conspiracy theories" concerning misinformation, Gun violence and drugs
Great lyrics as always
2. Cops shot the kid
The title of the song introduces you to the theme of the song which is police brutality but in this case against black people cuz of the stereotypes about them "white kids are brought in alive, black kids get hit with like five"
Police Brutality is an issue where I'm from as well
3. White label
Failed to point out what the main topic on this one is🤡 but from the lyrics I think Nas is generally celebrating his success with his great wordplay and metaphors
4. Bonjour
The World Famous Tony Williams' midas touch made this one a masterpiece
Nas raps about lust and desires on here but also stretches gender equality as he raps "want her whip matted, want her ass the fattest"
Women are not slaves 📌
5. Everything
My favorite song on the album (saved my life the other day 💀)
It's generally an empowering and hope giving song
"Dark boy don't you cry, there's too much life left in those eyes, Don't you let that face go waterfall"
Great song. Ye and The dream came through with a solid hook
6. Adam and Eve

Love the beat on this one
There's a lot to learn from the lyrics on here
Nas discourages sloth while talking loyalty and the hustle (among other things)
It's a great song
Great The-Dream hook
7.Simple things

The final song of the album with the main theme being envy but also expressing gratitude
Ye and Mike Dean murdered the beat
I'ma conclude by saying the reason why I love these wyoming albums is how they were well thought out and written managing to say a lot with just seven tracks.
We see Nas tackling a bunch of sensitive topics on here which is also the case on precursors KSG and Ye.
The fact that they stand for something is what makes them special
