thread of my feelings for enomoto takane and how her life in canon becomes solely about shintaro and how it probably fucks her up completely
talking about how shintaro would feel so fucking betrayed about the ene situation and like i actually kind of understand him. believing ene not to be a real person let alone someone he KNEW, shintaro was fully himself and she gets to see a super intimate side of him
like she sees him cry himself to sleep every night, she sees him being a loser online and lying about being a professional screen writer, she sees him writing a regretful song about their d/ead friend. takane literally gets to know shintaro inside out.
shintaro would feel SO BETRAYED once he finds out and he& #39;s actually justified because holy shit. all of takane& #39;s work all this time to make him move on and survive is undone with this revelation. so it& #39;s really shintaro& #39;s justified anger vs. can you even blame takane
and it& #39;s not even about the "haha can u blame her, he& #39;s so nasty" it& #39;s about how takane didnt know things would turn out the way they did. takane even started doubting she ever existed at all because saeru deleted all records of haruka and her ever even existing
and that + seeing shintaro& #39;s fucked up state when she bumps into him as ene, she obviously didn& #39;t even CONSIDER presenting herself as takane. nor did she consider anything ever changing. she probably thought it would always just be her and shintaro locked up together in his room
like the one other thing she could& #39;ve considered is her succeeding to get shintaro out and continue with his life, but not that she was actually involved in a fucked up situation about supernatural abilities lol
like lets not forget takane& #39;s way of getting shintaro out of his despair was distracting him from thinking about what was making him sad, so in her mind it was literally: make him forget about ayano at all costs!
so that being her strategy+her situation as ene, it probably means she applied it to herself too. making herself forget about haruka, ayano and even takane herself. she& #39;s ene now, takane is dead. maybe she never existed, she thinks?
but shintaro& #39;s real and shintaro is here and she has to make sure it stays that way. not only because she obviously cares for shintaro but because he& #39;s also the only thing that remains from the past. so she does it for the memory of ayano, of haruka, and herself& #39;s.
i think that was her reasoning, i think ene avoids thinking about herself in such a way her life is literally shintaro now. everyone is de/ad including her and her sole objective, with no reward whatsoever, is just keeping this person alive
i think thats also why post str she& #39;s like everyone& #39;s therapist and etc, she just REFUSES to face her problems. not only bc it had always been her nature to deny her feelings but as ene she had literally convinced herself she doesn& #39;t exist. so how could her problems exist!
ene just didn& #39;t think it through because she never would have expected to end up alive, let alone haruka and ayano too. she never wouldve expected shintaro to ever find out she was takane all along.
so... i think both shintaro and takane are justified in their actions. but putting both together, just how fucking desperate and broken do u expect takane to be lmao. this man was her entire life. the entire point of her existence was devoted to him? LITERALLY??
post str, takane has to learn to exist again but it& #39;s probably so fucking difficult for her to move on from shintaro. she& #39;s probably checking up on him every two seconds. she& #39;s literally desperate to keep him in her life and he doesn& #39;t even want to look at her
i think canon just went over it like haha yeah this girl& #39;s life is about the protagonist anyway SHINTARO ANGST WE DONT HAVE TIME TO UNPACK TAKANE bc jin& #39;s a gross little man who probably didnt even give this thought bc what& #39;s a woman& #39;s life if not to be about a man
but thats what im here for, to talk about it and sob uncontrollably. thank you, ill be here all night.
you thought you made a shallow female character only to be a plot device for a guy? bam, she& #39;s got so much character she& #39;s traumatized. how do you like that jin
(also let me add because im ME but this would present AN ISSUE in haruka and takane& #39;s relationship because takane would be constantly putting shintaro over everything including herself and haruka would be like haha this is fucked up)
(AND ayano would be ENVIOUS of takane because she feels like she& #39;ll never get to know shintaro the same way takane does even though knowing him the way she does is super damaging because he literally got no privacy whatsoever) (the yuukei quartet would be yuukei divided, baby)
