The problem is that people don& #39;t understand what China tried to do.
I& #39;d like to thanks @FadhelKaboub for helping me understand. https://twitter.com/thecoleslaws/status/1375792784637038594">https://twitter.com/thecolesl...

Colonialism works by turning a country into an extraction factory.
Example: India grew cotton, which was then shipped to England where they manufactured it into clothes and it was brought back to India and sold with a mark-up.

Now, in order to break this cycle, the country has to create their own value-added goods.
Otherwise, the cycle continues.
Otherwise, the cycle continues.
Why don& #39;t countries set up their own industry?
They try.
Sudan set up a pharmaceutical plant to make their own drugs.
Oddly, Bill Clinton bombed it because allegedly "Osama Bin Laden" was "running" it for "chemical weapons" or whatever

You might wonder : How is this related to China?
I will get there. But, you need to understand the entire problem the world faces. Then, you may understand China& #39;s decision to solve the problem.
You may have critiques but at least it will be intelligent and worth listening.

Well, simple. In ww2, Japan would bomb all Chinese industry and turn it into resources extraction machine.
See mining in China.

Even under communism, there is a limit in the amount of wealth a country can generate if it does not have manufacturing and/or industry.

So now, China needed a way to bring industry into the country without getting bombed.
They thought about it. Many corporations were already looking to create a new "home market"
Aka import cheaper goods to sell to impoverished country.

They said "We will let you come and manufacture your products here for cheaper. But, we have some terms and conditions."

But, they had a small terms and conditions:
1. They diluted the company stock such that the Chinese government owned about 30% or more shares. https://asia.nikkei.com/Economy/China-s-state-control-of-economy-grows-with-50-backdoor-takeovers">https://asia.nikkei.com/Economy/C...

They also have mandatory tech transfer clause which means China can use the technology to develop their own.
Now, if you are wondering what the "neocolonialism" or whatever is in Africa..
Well, remember this chart:
Well, remember this chart:
Even this moderate price reduction offers many of these countries a breathing room from the debt trap to build things like schools and hospitals
The US is crying because they a). Got rid of manufacturing so they don& #39;t produce anything
b) African countries are cutting out the middle man and going to the source https://www.china-briefing.com/news/china-set-cash-new-african-free-trade-agreement/">https://www.china-briefing.com/news/chin...

As for the Chinese" debt trap"
Well, China does not force them to privatize their water, which is different than the west. Therefore, countries are allowed to have more social programs etc https://historicly.substack.com/p/like-water-for-capitalists">https://historicly.substack.com/p/like-wa...

And it looks like the YouTube a-narks are the ones who are easily fooled by "capitalist aesthetics"
Projection is a hell of a drug. https://twitter.com/AnarkYouTube/status/1376205622966947854?s=19">https://twitter.com/AnarkYouT...

This also means that they are being surveilled a bit more and so it forces US to moderate their behavior in Africa too! https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/05/21/china-infrastructure-projects-africa-surveillance-spymaster-dream/">https://foreignpolicy.com/2020/05/2...
And it looks like with the bit of a breathing room, these African countries are asking China to build their infrastructure too!
