5 Steps to Start a Business With $0 (with a Case Study)

From a guy who built two 7 figure businesses while working a full time job with a wife and 2 young kids

If I had to start again from scratch

This is EXACTLY what I would do

//Thread//
Why should you listen to me?

I started with 0 prior experience in online biz and 0 confidence yet somehow I managed to:

✔Turn $630 into 100k profit in my 1st year selling handkerchiefs (now a 7 figure biz
✔Build a 7 figure income Blog

Want to know how I'd do it again? 👇👇
Step 1: Build an audience

Before I started my blog I thought the only people that would read it would be my friends and family.

Nope!

It turns out random strangers on the internet were interested in what I had to say.

And readers started pouring in...
from all over the world to read my thoughts about
> Entrepreneurship
> Lifestyle advice
> Building and running an online business
> and all the other random things I write about....

Lesson: People care about what you have to say. You just have to find the right people!
👇
Step 2: Put yourself out there

The great thing about the internet is it costs $0 to build an audience.

All you have to do is put yourself out there!

Case in point: YouTube start KevJumba

This lil' Asian kid started by posting silly videos of himself dancing on Youtube...
Over time he amassed over 2 million subscribers and now he makes a full time living creating movies!

He's killing it now but he wouldn't be where he is today if he hadn't put himself out there years ago.

Lesson: The sooner you start, the faster you'll grow
Step 3: Choose your medium

Even if you have no idea what business to start or $0 to start with, you need to put yourself out there.

When I started http://mywifequitherjob.com  I wrote about
> Life
> E-com
> Family

AFTER I built an audience, making money become an afterthought...
When you have a big audience who is interested in what you have to say, the 💰💰💰 will come. TRUST ME.

There's plenty of low-cost options for you to start:

> A blog
> Podcast
> FB Fan pages
> YouTube channel

Just pick 1 medium you resonate with and start recording...
Step 4: Retain your audience

After you start building your audience you've got to retain them with an Email List.

The best way to do this is to offer them a free gift in exchange for their email.

In my case that's a 6 day mini-course on E-commerce.

I have readers that...
have been with me for 8 years and that wouldn't have been possible without my blog and email list.

The secret to growing an online business is to retain your existing audience while simultaneously attracting new fans

Mindset: your blog is a stock that increases in value...
Final Step: I've got an audience. Now what?

Your audience = An established base of leads.

Now all you have to do is build something they want and sell it to them!

It won't happen overnight but with consistency the possibilities are endless!

Let's wrap up with a case study 👇
Case study: How to make 4k w/out a product

Arree is a student from my e-commerce course.

He's also an artist who illustrates children's books.

Most people think artists don't make any real money and that's because they don't value their own skills.

In Arrees case...
He had a unique skill (his ability to illustrate) and willing students (his email list)

One day Arree decided to give an online tutorial on how to create a children's picture book from scratch.

He simply emailed his list of <100 and gave a 1hr webinar.

The Results?
> Emailed a list of 80 ppl
> 60% of attendees bought his course
> $4315 profit
> No Website

The crazy part? He didn't have any content for the course yet.

His presentation was so compelling that his audience were willing to pay him up front for something he hadn't built yet...
Key takeaways:
> Having an audience is key
> It costs $0 to build one
> You don't have to be the best of the best of the best to be considered "an expert"
> Just start putting yourself out there

You just never know what will happen until you try
