So, I am now done with Sangatsu no Lion S1 and S2 and it was such an amazing experience honestly. My thoughts below, with spoilers of course but, yeah, I really loved Sangatsu.
It is really baffling to me how many messages and themes this anime was able to cover from the constant questioning by Rei of his own goals and ambitions to realizing the value of oneself, from wanting to be needed to shouldering the expectations that individuals have for you-
-and it is able to convey each of these messages in such a beautiful and intriguing manner.
The animation and colours were also quite great to look at especially in S2 with the Burnt Field Arc etc. The use of imagery in this anime really helps in demonstrating what thoughts-

-Rei has, in a visual way. The osts are also really good to listen to and it has that kind of emotional feel to it honestly. Speaking of music, the ops were really great but, the eds were just on a whole other level, each of them is a banger and I couldn& #39;t stop listening-
-to them. So fuckin& #39; great.
The cast of Sangatsu is one of my favs now. Each one of the characters, from minor to main, felt human and each one had their own problems and life, which really made the anime feel alive. Rei, the MC, is also top 5 for me now. His experiences and-

His thoughts really resonated with me and whenever he was faced with the realization that the people who are helping him, are not benefitting from him and how he starts to distance himself from-

-those individuals, really hit hard because I also feel like I am the only one gaining whenever I am in the company of my close friends or family but, am unable to provide anything to them, hating myself for that reason and overall, self deprecating over this idea that I-
-have formed. But, the truth of the matter is, that you are indeed helping others as well. You may not believe that or you may dismiss that idea but, ultimately, your existence brings joy to others. Yes, you may also be the reason for someone& #39;s pain but, that& #39;s only-
-because they chose that path by themselves, that& #39;s just how life works and seeing this from the eyes of Rei, really made me appreciate the fact that I might possibly be the cause of someone& #39;s happiness and vice versa. And this is only one aspect that Rei& #39;s character-
-touches, there& #39;s much more to unpack and it& #39;s just fantastic. I can go on and on about how amazing the portrayal of these messages are but, that& #39;ll make a 100 tweet thread if I am being honest.
With that said tho, Sangatsu is easily a 10/10 for me and is one of my greatest experiences now, overall with anime in general. Such a thought provoking story.
