THREAD: THE MC, OR, HOW TO EMBODY YOUR HIGH NOON

The Midheaven (aka MC) is the highest point in the sky the Sun will reach before it starts descending towards the western horizon. It’s high noon, maximum visibility relative to the season & latitude. It’s also YOUR maximum visibility.

In quadrant house systems, the MC creates the border of the 10th house. In whole sign houses, the MC can land anywhere between the 8th and 11th Houses, depending on where & when you were born.

The SIGN your MC lands in can tell you a lot about what qualities it behooves you to embody when relatively publicly visible, in situations where your reputation matters, etc.

The HOUSE your MC lands in (using whole sign) can tell you a lot about the AREAS OF LIFE where it behooves you to be relatively visible and cognizant of your reputation.

And the PLANET IN CHARGE of your MC can tell you a lot about what supports you in creating & maintaining a style of visibility that works best for you.

Put another way, the planet that rules your MC can help you cultivate greater comfort with being seen in relatively public-facing ways.

Some people really don’t need much help in this department, but for those who have a hard time putting yourself or your work out in the world, deeply considering your MC & its ruler can be a huuuuuuuuuge assist.

To do this, first identify your traditional MC ruler:
/: Mars
/: Venus
/: Mercury
: Moon
: Sun
/: Jupiter
/: Saturn

(I strongly recommend sticking with traditional planets for this!)

Note what HOUSE your MC ruler occupies. How might the significations of that house feed into your MC? What gifts of that house can help your MC? What challenges does that house bring?

Note what SIGN your MC ruler occupies. Is it a sign that facilitates your MC ruler expressing its best qualities, or does your MC ruler have to learn how to do itself in a place that’s a little challenging for it?

If you could personify your MC ruler based on its sign & house placement, who is that planet? How would that person encourage you to show up in the world? How would that person help you feel safe feeling seen?

It can be helpful to DELIBERATELY brainstorm a good list of different ways your MC ruler could enact support for your MC. Get loose & creative with this! Then choose the ones that feel most resonant to
experiment with embodying in your real-deal life

Keep in mind that the MC is only ever an ADDITION to the Ascendant (rising sign)! If yr Ascendant & its ruler aren’t acknowledged or allowed to participate in the embodiment of your MC, you’re denying yourself both crucial nuance and access to happiness.

How others navigate being seen/being in public is not how YOU have to! Your chart is YOUR CHART, and your MC situation is UNIQUELY YOURS. How you appear when you're high-noonin' is totally up to you, and the more aligned it is w your chart, the better it will feel.
