If you say "oh, I'm not racist", "I have Black friends/family/etc", if you stay quiet and only after the incident tell the Black person you're "on their side", etc.

You're racist.
You perpetuate racism and are complicit in it by not standing up and actively addressing & fighting it. You engage in racism yourself in many ways, including tokenism ("I have a Black __" is very racist) and colorism and colorblindness (which is also ableist). You commit racism
by viewing racism and discrimination and anti-Blackness as merely undesirable and socially unacceptable because that's *exactly* what makes you say "I'm not racist". You don't want the social mark of being one of them, not that you find racism horrible and vile and unacceptable.
You're a "non-racist". You're racist.

And you will be (even more than your whiteness will always make you so) unless and until you're *anti-racist*. Until you actively, repeatedly, constantly and diligently work to recognize and combat racism, you will be racist.
You will be racist until you put in the constant work to be otherwise and make other people to be anti-racist as well.
And if you take this personally? Well then, I have some big news for you - YA RACIST.
