Personally I don’t care too much about the moral views about his character, instead I want to state many of the facts that makes kinzo intriguing as a grand source of mystery and emotional intensity, not counting the fact that the guy is literally dead from the start.
Everything about kinzo is shrouded in mystery but intriguing at the same time, he has so much influence on the emotional state and the welfare of his children, and at the same time his own desires are erratic and all over the place.
The place he lives in, the stories told about him, the legends he created across many generations, the relationships he forged with the servants, the different perspectives of him, the core problem of what his death could actually mean for the living.
He is literally dead, but even in his death was able to exert so much presence in the story without even being alive. His corpse was a source of many mysteries, and even trying to get in his study caused all sorts of problems.
So much buildup literally comes from the few tidbits you know about him without the author really having to write anything about him. The structure around him was great from the start, and he was able to create a mixed atmosphere of strong desire and insanity unlike any other.
That’s why he is portrayed as a majestic dragon in the golden tea party, because that’s the extent of him being a great hurdle to overcome, both in the context of mystery and in reality as an ushiromiya, and battler removing him with one hand was truly amazing.
Many siblings are stressed because they cannot reach his level of wits and insanity, which added so much value to the commentary in episode 5 about whether battler is truly able to succeed to his levels for the sake of his family or not, a wonderful parallel of many between both
He is unexpectedly cruel and insane. When he heard about the death of a young child he grinned, throwing a great deal of terror in natushi’s lonely stressed heart. The succession exam was also a majestic festival on how to reach his level of character and presence.
That's why we didn’t have to kill him only once but twice, and using the golden truth among everything. Battler had to resort to extraordinary means to lay him to rest, not just thematically but kill his influence inside every tired heart of the ushiromiya siblings.
You finally thought he is over but he isn’t, we see contradicting perspectives of him in episode 7, about whether he plotted to kill the Italians or not, but regardless of the truth of that day, one thing that is given concrete evidence across the story is his love for Beatrice.
This is what the theatergoing authority means, to make use of already said clues to create happy fragments, Kinzo undoubtedly did so much for beato, creating a home for her, writing the epitaph, and feeling indebted to her among many other things, this is all truth.
His epitaph and views shaped a great deal of how Yasu views herself, which can be said for most of the siblings and their identity problems. His influence is truly one of a kind in every single situation across the whole story, especially the fixation on death and love.
Finally we realize that we don’t have all the memories of what he once used to be, and that he is capable of love like anyone else, and battler surely remembers this part of him more than ange because he was older than her at the time.
Without even adding this last bit of context, it's no secret that kinzo took great care in naming everyone of his children, and according to the story that means he acknowledged their existence despite everything, and even thought of a name for Yasu to preserve her identity.
The importance of naming dates back to the point Rosa fought kinzo for the right to name her child and created a rift between them, another instance of how parents think about their children even before their birth, a common thing across all the family members.
By the power of the theatergoing authority, we can make a constructed theory about how Maria was able to identify herself as a child of god using the name her mother fought to give her, which adds a whole other layer of complexity to all things regarding him.
and when you realize all of his context can be viewed from the current acting head, not his own views, and of course adding the respective author’s views across every chapter, there is just so much to think about.
Regardless of what someone may think about kinzo, it can’t be denied that he was a powerful thematic adversity and very deep & enigmatic person, and one who was able to leave a great personal influence following his death, reaching closer to the level of magic.
