Thread: I've posted this message numerous times on a bunch of platforms and really I'm just tired of repeating myself so here's the recipe to address "gun violence".
1. End the Drug War
2. Fix schools (likely through school choice initiatives or alternate funding mechanisms)
3. Reform/remove onerous occupational licensing regs.
4. Address the malincentives that led to the US leading the world in children being raised in single adult homes.

5. Increase access to mental health resources for middle class and lower income folks WITHOUT unnecessarily stigmatizing folks with mental illness.
6. Increase penalties for persons who commit violent crimes or knowingly sell weapons to prohibited persons.

7. Improve NICS by further incentivizing/requiring reporting agencies to provide accurate information and explore options for opening up the system to private sellers on a limited basis.
8. Allow for legal transfers of all firearms to friends or family in the event of an MH crisis.
9. Repeal the NFA and take firearms out of the ATF's purview. SBRs, AOWs, suppressors, and the like do not require regulation beyond that of more common firearms.

Oh, and just in case someone wants to counter with “You’re just some rando! Why should we listen to your ideas?”
You shouldn’t.
Thankfully none of these are my ideas. People waaay more knowledgeable than me came up with them. I’m just a low rent hype man.
