The Oscars, the Emmy, the Bafta, the Grammy, the Mommy, the Salammy, ALL of these ~awards~ most times have nothing to do with what& #39;s the best & everything to do with what& #39;s popular. And what& #39;s popular isn& #39;t always what& #39;s the best.
& as many artists have stated, it& #39;s also all about using the right connections & lots of PR & ass kissing. The reason these events have become so popular it& #39;s because they& #39;re a TV product, & the Media will promote the HELL of this product for profit. More viewers = More profit.
They try to instill in people& #39;s minds their ~importance~ by forcing an(incredibly ridiculous)habit to say how many times someone has been nominated or won one of these awards.ThE 247 TimEs nOmiNaTed & 546 Salammy AwArDs WiNneR. Wow so prestige.

Also, the 99% of these ~winners~ have been whites, & there& #39;s also an imbalance between men & women who are doing the same job but ~for some reason~ men are more favored. So whether you& #39;re an artist or a viewer, please stop making these~awards~smth so important, cause they& #39;re not.
Should art & music & cinematography etc. be celebrated? Of course!But THIS is not a celebration of arts.Dinners & events with the SAME people saying almost the SAME things, year after year after year,ain& #39;t it.Especially when many of those invited have NOTHING to do with the Arts.
Winning a man-made award doesn& #39;t make someone a better artist than someone who hasn& #39;t won any.But this is what people perceive.All the "Best" categories should be titled "Most popular" or smth else.I like artists who are focused on their craft & don& #39;t get bothered by all these.
All these awards should be called ~a parade of public figures wearing designer clothes, enjoy~, because isn& #39;t this their main focus???
