What are 9's wings made of? Is it just pure magic?

Cause they kinda look the colour of blood - so, maybe a type of blood magic?

Like - these zippers exist so his wings can pop out easily. Meaning they must be attached to / come out of his body.

They're physical and not made /of/ magic, but made /from/ magic.
