Ushiromiya Cousins - The Four Cardinal Virtures
It is no secret that the theme of the 7 sins are well defined in Dante's inferno, but it can be theorized that the 4 virtues from the same narrative have a role to play in writing the cousins - the backbone of Yasu's happiness.
Cardinal virtues are four virtues of mind and character in both classical philosophy and Christian theology. They are: Prudence, Justice, Fortitude, Temperance. Virtues are so called because they are regarded as the basic virtues required for a virtuous life.
Prudence is the ability to discern the appropriate course of action to be taken in a given situation at the appropriate time, and is love distinguishing with sagacity between what hinders it and what helps it. This well defines the character of Jessica regarding her upbringing.
Temperance is practice of self-control, abstention, discretion, and moderation tempering the appetition, and is described as love giving itself entirely to that which is loved, All of which can be seen in George's character especially in Alliance & Dawn.
Justice is love serving only the loved object, and therefore ruling rightly. It is well integrated in Maria's character and her infinite love for her mother on the account of her own well being, and defining it as her calling and identity.
Fortitude, also termed courage: forbearance, strength, endurance, and the ability to confront fear, uncertainty, and intimidation. It is love readily bearing all things for the sake of the loved object. This undoubtedly describes battler and all his actions throughout the story.
The only people who make me feel needed, are my blood relatives. The Raw feeling of “Being Loved” or “It Being Alright to Love” was more bliss than i ever knew, will anyone be able to understand this?
